SKN / Center Street Law — Three Directions

Three broadly varied design bets, each applied to the homepage, the Estate Planning landing, and an attorney bio template.

What to look at

Open all three homepages first. They cover the same content blocks — the differences are in rhythm, density, and weight of typography vs. photography.

What's the same

Brand colors and the SKN seal. Typography is Playfair Display paired with Lato. Copy is realistic placeholder pulled from your discovery materials — close to final tone, not yet final wording. Photography is Pacific-Northwest-appropriate stock standing in for Ashley's planned shoot. Accessibility is WCAG 2.1 AA throughout.

What's not yet here

Real photography (Ashley's shoot replaces placeholders). Real copy (Rachel's team). The Criminal Law landing page (deferred to round 2 per the brief). Final tagline.

Direction 01

Heritage Editorial

Editorial typography on a cream ground, with heritage as the quiet anchor.

Cream ground throughout. Heavy Playfair Display moments. Hairline rules instead of cards. Practice areas as a typographic list. "Est. MCMXXXIX" recurring. Photography used as punctuation, not headline.

  • Bets on: typographic confidence, heritage register
  • Risk: could feel quieter than some stakeholders expect

Direction 02

Confident Anchor

A structured, navy-on-white grid in the Keller Rohrback register.

Pure white grounds, navy-dominant, structured grid. Three-segment hero (Estate / Criminal / Business & Property) with equal weight. Practice areas as a 2×3 card grid. Closest to the Keller Rohrback anchor — the safest, most KR-shaped bet.

  • Bets on: structural clarity, KR fidelity
  • Risk: could feel too close to KR if more distinction is wanted

Direction 03

Warm Concierge

Photography-forward in warm tones, organized around the audiences you serve.

Warm bone palette. Photography-led, full-bleed hero. Italic emphasis word in major headlines. "Estate planning for..." repeating section pattern. Subtle dot-pattern dividers. Most opinionated of the three.

  • Bets on: photography, warmth, italic-emphasis voice
  • Risk: more opinionated; depends on photography quality
